York Curiouser
14 June to 7 July 2014 & 2015
York Curiouser curated new artworks in a range of media in hidden corners of the city. Working with contemporary artists and academics installations temporarily reimagined York.
A series of talks, workshops and events for families, schools and adults complemented this vibrant outdoor art exhibition that formed part of the University of York’s Festival of Ideas.
York Curiouser’s first iteration in 2014 was a huge success. Nearly 40,000 people visited artworks or participated in events. A smaller event took place in Summer 2015 which saw more poems by John Wedgwood Clarke appear in York’s snickets.
